We are active in two complimentary sectors : the conservation
and restoration of works of art.
Conservation encompasses different services relating to works
of art:
the improvement of its appearance, but also collection surveys,
research, preventive care and treatment ...
Restoration comprises of three phases, duly differentiated
and always present: research examination and analysis of material
components, intervention based on protocol of preliminary work.
But in addition...
Conservart offers technical expertise for your works of art,
a condition report before transport and or display, conservation
advice and survey of the works in your collection.
Conservart is also involved with European programmes relating
to educational methods of conservation, programmes raising public
awareness, publication of information and educational documents,
etc.

THE PROFESSION OF CONSERVATOR OF WORKS OF ART...
The work of the conservator rests in this fundamental idea that
the work is the meeting of the human conscience and of a limited
number of materials. When the physical properties of the painting
are diminished, the image created by the artist loses its legibility.
The conservator's profession is a search for a balance between
science and art. Successive interventions on the matter allow
the work to deliver anew its message.
Paradoxically, when the task of the conservator is completed
with conscience and skill, his work is concealed within the
rediscovered beauty of the object.
